British motorcycle rally, Santa Barbara, Memorial Day

One event was to place a tennis ball atop five fluorescent red traffic cones without stopping. Eddie's wife Jodi was the ball-placer.

There was a slalom event, in which bikers had to manuever their bike through a series of beer-bottle markers. If you touched a foot to the ground, that was the end of your trial for that category. Next was an array of five beer bottles across 100 feet. Each bottle had a drinking straw in it; the biker's task was to pluck the straws as he went by without tipping over the bottle. Most of the contestants had another rider, usually female, sitting behind; the driver drove and the rider plucked the straws.

True to his word, Eddie won every event.
