On Christmas Eve I drove 300 miles through dazzling California solstice sunshine to Santa Barbara for xmas festivities. Hardly a car upon the road.

I arrived at 12:25pm, and everybody commented on it because I'd said I would be there at noon, and I'm notorious for being exactly on time.
