Michelle's kittens
Michelle from the Zircon softball team owns the mother and father cats. Lots of people have offered me cats over the years, but they were always strays, or 10-year-olds with ratty hair, or spooked feral kittens.
I went to Michelle's and selected this one from among three brothers. Michelle called this one Scratcher. One of the sibs was a virtually identical tabby, except with no personality and no playfulness, and the other was a gray cat that hid.
So I was glad to finally have a kitten that grew up in a fine family home. I was worried the little cat would wail and moan upon being separated from mommy and the sibs, but he seems to like it fine here.
The mom is a sleek gray thing and the dad is a big gray tabby. Michelle thinks there's some Abyssinian in the mix.
I knew I was going to like Michelle's kittens when she told me that the mom cat hid the kittens five times in their first week on earth. I saw that as a sign of very strong cat instincts.
