Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara

Wednesday afternoon I drove to Santa Barbara for a Thanksgiving weekend with my brother Matt's family. He was scheduled for arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder that day, but it was expected to be minor. However, once the surgeon started the operation, a complete tear of the rotator cuff was detected, and Matt was under the knife for three hours instead of thirty minutes. And instead of a ten-day recovery time, he'll have to hold his right arm immobile strapped to his chest for six weeks, and probably six months of therapy to be able to return to his job, and a year before he can expect full recovery.

Matt's inciscions Friday.

Matt wasn't the only injured one; nephew Chris was recovering from a sprained ankle.

Debbie brought her dogs, a case of her home-made wine, and a can of whipped cream. Scarlett enjoyed some whipped cream, too.

Colin got totally shit-faced.

Ian entertained us guitaro el supino.

After dinner, some of the boys played "Napoleon in Europe."

Muffy the cat played the game, too.

Friday, I took a bunch of the guys to the pistol range.

Saturday, Andy and Ian worked on their cars.

Then I met my friend Henry for dinner at the Tee-Off.
