Battle Re-Enactment

Misha and I drove 140 miles down US 101 to Camp Roberts, south of King City, to participate in a re-enactment of the Battle of Villers-Bocage of June 11-15, 1944, after the Allies secured Normandy Beach and began to move inland.

Misha and I fought on the German side.

"The legendary armored engagement in which a lone Tiger tank (commanded by Michael Wittmann) destroyed an entire column of British armor, took place during the 7th Armored Division's foray into Villers-Bocage."

Unfortunately, Anders' Tiger tank was stranded in the North Bay by recent floods, and the Camp Roberts commander decided the terrain was too fragile (from recent rains) to allow any tracked vehicles, so the "armored engagement" was re-enacted without any armor.
