Nordic Knives brochure
|
 |
Nordic Knives wanted a direct mail piece to stimulate interest in investment-grade hand-made
knives.
I interviewed many collectors and knife-makers, and studied a lot of US history.
I decided to break the brochure into
three categories: hunting knives, fighting knives, and folding knives, plus the introduction
and a closing discussion of the financial advantages of knife collecting.
Cover: "My Knife, " the first one made in D'Alton Holder's workshop in Amarillo. This hunting knife has a dropped-point blade of polished 440-C steel, and a handle made of alternate pieces of fossilized walrus oosik and half-million-year-old amber. The engraving on the butt and guard is by Mel Wood.
